Editorial Standards

Trust is central to our journalism. These standards govern the process from story selection and verification to corrections and the use of artificial intelligence.

Accuracy and fact-checking

Material claims are checked against primary documents, direct sources or multiple independent reliable sources. News, analysis and opinion are clearly distinguishable, and headlines do not exaggerate the reporting.

Sources and independence

Anonymous sources are used only where public interest and source safety require it. Advertising, political relationships and personal interests do not determine editorial decisions; significant conflicts are disclosed.

Corrections and updates

Confirmed material errors are corrected promptly and the nature of the change is made visible. Stories expanded with new information show an update time; silent edits are not used to conceal mistakes.

Artificial intelligence policy

AI may assist translation, transcription, classification and editing. A human editor remains responsible for publication; fabricated facts, sources or misleading images are prohibited, and material AI use is disclosed where relevant.
