Syrdarya Region is planning to establish a driver training centre for candidates who are expected to seek employment in Japan after completing their preparation. The project focuses on training qualified personnel in driver services, delivering instruction in line with international requirements and supporting employment opportunities for citizens in Japan.

The proposal was discussed by Doniyor Kodirov, acting hokim of the region, and Jun Kato, head of the Japanese company Onodera User Run. They reviewed issues related to professional training for driver candidates and their prospective employment in Japan.

Under the first stage of the project, 400 drivers are planned to be sent to Japan. The number is expected to rise to 1,000 at a later stage. A dedicated training programme lasting seven months has been outlined for prospective participants.

The programme will include Japanese-language instruction, transport safety rules and practical driving classes. Participants who complete the training will be interviewed by Japanese employers, and those who pass the selection process are planned to be sent to Japan for work. The initiative is intended to broaden overseas employment opportunities for residents of the region.
